New study finds most youthful glow in western U.S., those aging too quickly in South

Want to hang on to that “youthful glow?” Go west, reports a new study conducted by realage.com.

According to the report that studied 50 large U.S. cities, residents in San Francisco, Salt Lake City and San Diego were found to have the most youthful glow of health for their age. Oklahoma City was ranked no. 4 among cities where residents are aging too fast.

Factors taken into consideration for the survey included cholesterol, smoking, marital status, eating habits, employment, stress, social life and alcohol.

Top Five Cities for Staying Young

3. San Diego, Calif.
4. Minneapolis, Minn.
5. Denver, Colo.
8. Austin, Texas
20. Houston, Texas
25. Dallas, Texas

Top Five Cities Aging Too Quickly

1. Knoxville, Tenn. 2. Louisville, Ky.
3. Memphis, Tenn.
4. Oklahoma City
5. Indianapolis, Ind.
"Each city ranking is more than just a number," researcher Keith Roach told NewsCore. "It's a unique assessment of the healthy lifestyles, or lack of them, in that metro area."
