Broken Arrow police believe they have identified two men who were operating a countywide vehicle burglary ring.

Matthew Paul Moore and Kevin Orlando Ibarrez, both 20, are suspected of breaking into vehicles throughout the Tulsa County -- mostly parked near recreation trails along the Creek Turnpike from the Arkansas River to Broken Arrow, police said.

Police apprehended Moore after staking out a parking lot last week, according to a press release.

Moore arrived there in a car driven by Ibarrez, who allegedly broke into a vehicle as Moore served as lookout.

Police had put a "bait" vehicle in the parking lot and were waiting nearby.

They chased Ibarrez as he fled in his car, but he eventually jumped out and escaped, police said.

Moore was arrested Thursday on a complaint of burglarizing a vehicle and was booked Saturday into the Tulsa Jail. He may face more complaints as the investigation progresses, police said.

Police later recovered numerous items believed to be stolen from vehicles in Tulsa County. Anyone who believes their property is included can call Broken Arrow police at 918-259-8400.

Anyone with information on Ibarrez's whereabouts can call Broken Arrow police or the Tulsa Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS.
