William Bond Chick, “Bigby”, was born in Lubbock, TX, November 17, 1946 to Betty Joe Bond and William Sidney Chick. Bill passed away, surrounded by family and friends June 20, 2012 in Tulsa, OK. Bill graduated from Edison High School in 1964, and went on to attend the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University, and Benedictine College. He later joined the Army National Guard and was stationed at Fort Ord, California. After serving in the guard, Bill went on to manage Figaro restaurant and tend bar at The Pub in Hollywood, as well as working for Lionsgate Studios in several capacities. After many fun filled years in California, he returned home to Tulsa where he continued the fun, tending bar at several well known Tulsa establishments including the Shy Clown, and Club One. After all the fun, it was time to take a step back, and reflect. Bill studied hard, obtained his real estate license and became a successful agent and salesman his father would have been proud of. Throughout his life, Bigby was helped by many, and helped many along the way. He is preceded by his parents Betty Joe and Bill Chick, sister Jo Lynn Chick, aunt Jean Spears, and cousin Suzanne Spears. He is survived by his niece Sydney Tucker, her partner Jeff Keith, cousins Andrew and Cathy Spears, AJ Spears, Ashley Spears, Andrea and Eric Kidwell, brother-in-law Jack Norton, very special friends Richard and Judy Phillips, Steve and Charlotte Wilson, his loyal dog, Blossom, and many other close friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to 12 & 12, The Salvation Army, the SPCA, or charity of your choice. Services will be held at All Souls Unitarian Church, Friday, June 29th at 4:00pm This obituary was published in the Tulsa World on 6/27/2012.
