A full-sized Dairy Queen Grill & Chill restaurant is "coming soon" to Broken Arrow, according to DQ's corporate website.
A small Dairy Queen/Orange Julius stand is located in Woodland Hills Mall, but it has been some years since the Tulsa area has had a full-sized, stand-alone DQ restaurant.
The new Dairy Queen will be located at 3120 W. Kenosha St., the former site of Broken Egg next to Ted's Cafe Escondido. In Tulsa terms, that's on 71st Street just east of 129th East Avenue.
The DQ Grill & Chill restaurants feature a full range of food items, including chicken strips, sandwiches, grilled sandwiches, wraps, burgers, hot dogs and salads.
Then there are the familiar treats - Dilly Bar, DQ Sandwich, Blizzard (soft-serve ice cream blended with candies, cookies or fruit), Buster Bar, hand-dipped chocolate cones and ice cream cakes for special occasions.
Other area Dairy Queens are located in Okmulgee and Wetumka, and a DQ Grill & Chill is located in Grove.
