El Tequila, 5001 S. Harvard Ave., is back in business following a kitchen fire May 23.
"We got open about a week ago," owner Carlos Aguirre said. "The crowds have been very good. I think people were happy to see us get open again."
Tulsa World movie critic Michael Smith reported a line of customers was out the door for nearly two hours last Friday night.
El Tequila has four locations. Aguirre opened the first one at 8118 S. Memorial Drive in 2002. He since has added restaurants at 1113 N. Elm Place, Broken Arrow; 12500 E. 86th St. North, Owasso, and 5001 S. Harvard Ave.
The El Tequila restaurants feature lengthy menus of regional Mexican and Tex-Mex dishes at moderate prices.
Hours at all four restaurants are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday-Saturday.
