Letter to the Editor: What a shame

If I am an employer who wants to
hire the best and brightest employees,
one of the things I can do is offer a
creative and comprehensive employee
benefits package. I believe this will help
attract and retain the folks who are best
qualified to work for me.
It is apparent that the Catholic
Church and its affiliates do not subscribe
to these practices. It is also apparent
they are not willing to work out a
flexible benefits package for those people
who do not subscribe to their beliefs
concerning contraception. What a
shame for both employer and employee.
I believe their position is about religious
privilege, not religious freedom
as your op-ed article so elegantly described
in the June 8 Tulsa World.
