OU, OSU, Tulsa players named to Thorpe watch list

OU's Tony Jefferson, OSU's Brodrick Brown and Tulsa's Dexter McCoil were among the 34 finalists named for the Jim Thorpe Award.
The Thorpe Award is annually presented to college football's top defensive back.
Brown was a first-team All-Big 12 selection last season and was one of 15 semifinalists for the Jim Thorpe Award last season. Brown received All-America honors from the Associated Press (third team) and SI.com (second team).
Jefferson, a former Big 12 defensive freshman of the year, was an honorable mention all-league performer last season, when he led the Sooners with four interceptions and ranked third with 74 tackles.
McCoil was second-team All-C-USA and was named the Tulsa MVP of the Armed Forces Bowl.
