A customer intervened to halt an attempted robbery at a Tulsa business late Thursday, according to Tulsa police.
A man wearing a black paintball mask, a black shirt and black pants entered the Flying J Travel Plaza at 121 N. 129th East Ave. shortly after 9:45 p.m. and attempted to rob the store, Sgt. Clint Roberts said.
A customer physically intervened and caused the would-be robber to drop his weapon, which turned out to be a pellet gun, Roberts said.
The robber fled on foot and went west across 129th East Avenue toward an apartment complex, Roberts said. The man, whom Roberts estimated to be about 20 years old, had not been captured as of 11 p.m. Thursday.
Roberts said police believe that the same man robbed the same establishment a few weeks ago.
