Tulsa County extends burn ban

Tulsa County commissioners voted 3-0 Monday to extend the countywide burn ban through July 30. The ban was originally approved July 6.
The resolution bans outdoor burning while still allowing gas or electric grilling over a nonflammable surface. Charcoal grilling and grilling over a grassy surface is outlawed.
According to state statute, violation of the ban is a misdemeanor punishable by a maximum fine of $500 and one year in jail.
