Republican challenger ends state Senate District 1 bid

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Republican Michael Romero has ended his race for Senate District 1, meaning incumbent Charles Wyrick will be re-elected.
Romero of Miami ended his bid for election because he took a job in Oklahoma City, his former campaign manager, Jay Calan, said Monday.
Wyrick, D-Fairland, has served in the Senate since 2004.
