Tulsa livestock

The state Department of Agriculture reported the following closing prices Monday at the Tulsa Stockyards:

Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers 2-4 lower with a light test. Steer calves 3-450 lbs. $2 to $6 higher, 500 lbs. and over $2 to $4 lower. Heifer calves steady to 6 lower. Supply included 21 percent over 600 lbs. 51 percent heifers and 313 cows and bulls.

Oklahoma livestock

The state Department of Agriculture reported the following midsession prices Monday at the Oklahoma City Stockyards:

Receipts: 5,350; week ago: 7,667; year ago: 8,271,

Compared to last week: Feeder steers steady to 3 lower. Feeder heifers lightly tested and steady. Steer and heifer calves lightly tested with un-weaned calves 2-3 lower; weaned calves steady. Demand turned good late morning with most all buyers participating. Demand best for heavier weight cattle or short term feeders as high priced grains continue to burden the minds of feeder buyers. Quality average, end attractive with more load lots of feeders available. Weigh-ups average to full as temperatures remain hot and dry.
