Rusty Crane, a new restaurant featuring throwback recipes and cocktails, is expected to open in four to six weeks at 109 N. Detroit Ave., according to owner Lee Brennan.

"It's located in a 90-year-old building, so we will have a lot of old-style food and drinks," Brennan said. "It will be a varied menu with cooking styles from around the globe."

Brennan said the Rusty Crane will have a casual atmosphere and seating for about 100 inside and another 60 on a 2,500-square-foot patio. The restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner.

"I plan to keep the kitchen open to midnight on weekdays and to 2 a.m. on weekends, so it will be a nice late-night place to get something to eat," Brennan said.

Brennan said he has about 15 years of experience in the restaurant business, most recently at Jason's Deli. His father owned Patio Barbecue & Grill, which closed about 10 years ago.

Brennan is running a contest on the Rusty Crane Facebook page, with the winner receiving a free dinner for 10 on opening night.
