California defensive back commits to Sooners

Hatari Byrd, a safety from Fresno, Calif., has committed to play football at Oklahoma, according to Rivals.com.
Byrd (6-1, 190 pounds) is a four-star defensive back, according to the recruiting website. He has a dozen offers, according to Rivals, including Notre Dame, Georgia and UCLA.
Byrd is the 12th player to pledge to the Sooners’ class of 2013 recruiting class. He is the fifth defensive player to commit. Defensive backs Stanvon Taylor (East Central) and Ahmad Thomas (Miami, Fla.) have also given verbal commitments to OU.
