STILWELL – The body of an unidentified man was found with a wound to his head in a church parking lot in Adair County, said Jessica Brown, Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman on Wednesday.

Brown said the body was found Tuesday afternoon near the Cherokee County line at the Pleasant Valley Holiness Church, about 10 miles west of Stilwell. The pastor found the man in the church’s parking lot, which is about 25 yards from the intersection of a county road and Oklahoma 100, Brown said.

Investigators believe the head trauma was inflicted early Tuesday morning, she said. Brown declined to provide any additional information about the head wound other than to say the state's Medical Examiner's office will rule on the cause and manner of death.

The Adair County Sheriff’s office said Wednesday they had no reports of a missing man.

If anyone has information about the case, call the OSBI at (800) 522-8017.
