Letter to the Editor: Rush was honest

The nonpartisan Congressional Budget
Office “did the math” and found
that the Affordable Care Act will reduce
federal spending and deficits
while the Republican attempt to repeal
the act, if passed, would “boost the deficit
by $109 billion from 2013 to 2022”
(Tulsa World, July 25, p. A9).
In addition, the ACA is constitutional,
will prevent insurance companies
from cheating clients out of their proper
catastrophic coverage, allow youths
to be covered longer on parental insurance,
and add three million people to
health-care coverage. We already provide
people health care in ER rooms;
the key is to reduce the cost of services.
After all these years, what is the Republican
alternative? If all the Republicans
have to offer is to criticize and
sabotage the plans of others who are
trying to improve America, they are
only doing what Rush Limbaugh wanted:
to make Obama fail so they can win
elections. Limbaugh at least was honest.
However, we need more leaders
who care more about what is best for
America than what is best for their political
party. We need more legislators
who care about the middle and lower
classes than rich Americans, like Mitt
Romney.
