Just hours after Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops announced wide receiver Kameel Jackson's dismissal, the Sooners appeared to have added a player.

Penn State's Justin Brown reportedly will transfer to OU, an OU source confirmed to the Tulsa World on Saturday night.

Brown, a 6-3, 209-pounder, is eligible immediately for Oklahoma. He becomes the ninth Penn State player to leave the program in recent weeks.

Brown was going to be Penn State's leading returning receiver from 2011 (35 catches, 517 yards and two touchdowns). The statistics came from a Nittany Lions program that was bottom quarter of Division I football in passing offense.

He'll join a wide receiver group that had only one player (Kenny Stills) with a Division I reception. Returners Jaz Reynolds and Trey Franks were reinstated for practice, but won't see any game time soon, Stoops said.

Jackson had 12 receptions for 165 yards as a true freshman in 2011. He was suspended last May, along with Reynolds, Franks and Quentin Hayes. Those three players had been reinstated for practice (but not games), Stoops said on Wednesday, before adding that Jackson's status would be evaluated at the end of the summer academic session.
