Letter to the Editor: The drama begins

Now the drama begins as to whether states will expand Medicaid as provided in the Affordable Care Act. Will our governor allow thousands of Oklahomans who need life-saving Medicare benefits to get them or will she, like the clown of the Republican presidential primary to the south of us, Gov. Rick Perry, refuse them for reasons of ideological "principle?" (Also, no doubt endearing her to the far right in any political "moving-up-the-ladder" ideas she might have for the future.)
The governor ought to remember the inconvenient truth that anyone of Christian principles should consider: If she chooses to forgo participation, there will be thousands of Oklahomans who will not receive medical care. They will suffer needlessly and in many instances be subjected to an early death. That is not drama; that is fact.
So the issue really becomes whether the governor is willing to have their blood on her hands.
Editor's note: At the bottom of Shalon's handwritten letter, he added: "Sorry for the poor handwriting. I took shrapnel in my hand while in the Army."
