A man was struck and killed early Tuesday after he stepped in front of a tractor-trailer rig on a Craig County highway, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.
James Paul Williams, 25, stepped from the shoulder of Oklahoma 82 into the path of the southbound truck about 3 a.m. between county roads 290 and 300, the OHP reported.
The impact threw Williams nearly 160 feet, troopers said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The truck driver was unharmed.
