A man who is charged in a July 31 attack on a Tulsa minister helped two friends rob his own aunt weeks earlier, a court document alleges.
Markedrik Delmar Wilson, 26, is accused of driving the two men to his aunt's house June 29 and standing by as they took her purse and cellphone at gunpoint, an affidavit shows. He then took a share of the stolen money, the document alleges.
Wilson, who was charged with robbery Tuesday in connection with the home-invasion shooting of the Rev. Kenneth Brooks, had been charged July 18 in the robbery of his aunt, records show.
Stanley Leon Dandridge, 20, was arrested Wednesday in connection with the earlier robbery. The affidavit alleges that he and Henry Lee Harris, 20, took the woman's purse.
The group had meant to rob Wilson's uncle, but he had taken his wife's vehicle to work that day and the men thought he was home, the document says.
On the day of the robbery, someone calling from Wilson's residence reportedly left multiple messages for Wilson's uncle asking whether he was at work.
When the men found Wilson's aunt in the front yard, Dandridge told Wilson and Harris that he would shoot her if she screamed, the affidavit alleges.
Another relative later told Wilson's uncle who had committed the robbery, the document says.
Wilson was arrested the day of Brooks' shooting after a witness reportedly identified him as one of five men who kicked in Brooks' door in the 2700 block of North Denver Avenue shortly before 2 a.m.
Police allege that the men targeted Brooks for robbery and used a 16-year-old girl he knew from the neighborhood to go to his door as a ruse.
One of the men shot Brooks point-blank in the chest, police said. Brooks survived.
Brooks is the former pastor of City of Refuge International Ministries, 1023 N. Utica Ave., and the current owner of the Hands of Glory restaurant, 2616 N. Cincinnati Ave.
Wilson, Terell Lajuan Cooper and Joeiune Deonte Nelson were charged Tuesday with armed robbery and first-degree burglary in connection with that attack, records show. Cooper and Nelson also have been arrested.
Cedric Ramon Wilson, 25, and Rondale Dewayne Boyd, 20, were charged Monday with the same counts but are not in custody. Rondale Boyd, whom police believe to be the gunman, is also charged with shooting with an intent to kill.
All of the men have lengthy criminal histories, records show.
Markedrik Wilson was in prison from 2009 to 2010 on convictions for false impersonation and second-degree rape and from June 2011 to June of this year on drug and firearm convictions.
