HOMINY - Starship featuring Mickey Thomas will perform a free outdoor concert Sept. 29 at Osage Casino in Hominy.
Gates open at 6 p.m. and the show is all ages.
Thomas' best-known solo work is his version of Tulsa-born Elvin Bishop's blues tune "Fooled Around and Fell in Love," from 1976. Afterward, he became Jefferson Starship's lead singer and propelled the band to multiple hits in the '80s and '90s, including the No. 1 hit "Jane."
Starship's hits include "No Way Out," "Sara," "We Built This City," "Nothing Gonna Stop Us Now," "Find Your Way Back," "Stranger," "Laying It On The Line" and "It's Not Over Till It's Over."
Three more free concerts are planned this fall: Sawyer Brown on Oct. 12 at Osage Casino Bartlesville, Lee Greenwood on Oct. 19 at Osage Casino Pawhuska and Jo Dee Messina on Oct. 26 at Osage Casino Sand Springs.
All concerts are outdoors, rain or shine and lawn chairs are welcome.
