Carl Lee Weatherford, 83, passed away on August 8, 2012, in Tulsa. He was born August 5, 1929, in Stroud, OK, to Ed and Ethel Weatherford. He was a graduate of Stroud High School and served two tours of duty for the U.S. Army. Carl earned his bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering at the University of Oklahoma in 1952 then, on June 15, 1957, married Joanne Goff. During his career, Carl was district engineer with Kewanee Oil Company, working out of Kansas, West Texas, Oklahoma and the island of Cuba. In 1967, he became a Tulsa-based consulting engineer. He then became division manager of the Tulsa Division of Petro- Lewis Corp. He retired as production manager for Green Operating Company. Carl was a 50-year member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, Tau Beta Pi, the National Society of Professional Engineers and belonged to Asbury United Methodist Church since 1964. He is survived by his wife, Joanne of Tulsa; son, Carl Michael, his wife, Joan, and granddaughter, Gillian, all of Boulder City, NV, nephews, George White of Oklahoma City, and Doug White of Sugarland, Texas; several great-nephews and great-nieces; and many friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Bill Weatherford; sister, Blye White; and nephew, Jack Weatherford. Services will be Tuesday, August 14, 2 p.m., at Asbury United Methodist Church, 6767 S. Mingo Road. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, National Multiple Sclerosis Society and Asbury United Methodist Church in Tulsa.
