BROKEN BOW — Authorities believe an Allen, Texas, man has drowned in a lake in far southeastern Oklahoma.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Monday efforts are under way to recover the man's body in Broken Bow Lake in McCurtain County.
Troopers say a witness told them the victim jumped out of the boat to swim about 3:45 p.m. Saturday. When the man began to struggle, occupants of the boat threw a personal flotation device over to him to use.
Troopers say the man went under the water, however, before anyone could reach him.
