Robert W. Coggins, inventor, engineer, and Retired CEO of C- E Natco died peacefully in his sleep Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at the age of 89. He was born in Locksburg, Arkansas on January 13, 1923 to Lorene and Conrad Calvin Coggins. He graduated from Salem, Illinois High School in 1941. He attended the University of Illinois at Champaign, and was called to serve in the U.S. Army on June 18, 1943. He was promoted to Combat Engineer Unit Commander and later became a Second Lieutenant in the Corps of Engineers. He received the American Theater Service Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. Following his service, he returned to the University of Illinois in 1946 and completed his degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked as a Professional Engineer at National Tank Company and traveled worldwide designing oil field equipment, and had numerous patents in the Oil & Gas Industry. National Tank Company became C-E Natco in 1965. He later became President and CEO of C-E Natco, until his retirement. He was an avid golfer and a member of Tulsa Country Club and Cedar Ridge for many years. Robert is survived by his loving wife, Marjorie A. Coggins of Tulsa, OK, daughter Lisa Coggins Emery Jones and husband George K. Jones of Tulsa; son Robert C. Coggins of Tulsa; son Curt Coggins, M.D. and wife Nancy of Tulsa; son Greg Coggins and wife Robyn of Palmdale, CA; and seven grandchildren, Jen” Emery, J.P. Emery, Kenny, Tanner, Joshua, Noah, and Elijah Coggins. Funeral Mass will be held at the Church of St. Mary in Tulsa, care of Moore Southlawn Funeral Home, at 11 AM Saturday, August 18.
