Preview: What to expect from OU, OSU and TU this football season.
WR Tavon Austin, West Virginia
An inside speed wide receiver and return specialist, the 5-9 senior led the FBS in all-purpose yards (198 yards per game) and was eighth nationally in receptions per game (7.8) last year.
QB Collin Klein, Kansas State
Senior carried the Wildcats at times last year, as evident by his 27 rushing touchdowns. Expect much of the same this season.
DT Stansly Maponga, TCU
The junior will be high on everyone's scouting report. In 2011, he led the Frogs with 13.5 tackles for loss (including nine sacks) and forced five fumbles.
DE Alex Okafor, Texas
Senior anchors a solid Texas unit that is one of the nation's best. Racked up seven sacks last season. Picked as preseason Big 12 defensive player of the year.
QB Geno Smith, West Virginia
Adapted to Dana Holgorsen's offense easily last season, throwing for 4,385 yards. Was interception-free in nine games in 2011. Picked as preseason Big 12 offensive player of the year.
