Read all the election coverage.

A day before presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney announced his running mate, 4th District Congressman Tom Cole told some reporters about the time a ringer showed up at one of his town hall meetings.

Cole had just finished talking to a roomful of constituents in far southern Oklahoma when a rather scruffy-looking character with a ball cap pulled low over his face sidled up to him.

"Gee, Tom, why didn't you call on me?" asked a familiar if unexpected voice.

It was Rep. Paul Ryan, who was in town visiting his in-laws and taking in some of the outdoor activities he's said to favor.
