A reception for United Way "trailblazer" companies was recently held to recognize those conducting early campaigns for the annual fund drive.
"As trailblazer companies, your organizations are ... providing an example to others as we prepare to kick off the 2012 United Way campaign," said Mark Graham, president and CEO of the Tulsa Area United Way, during a recent reception.
Trailblazers are a select group of companies and organizations who conduct early campaigns, aiming toward a 10 percent increase over the previous year and setting an example for other workplace campaigns.
The early campaigns take place during August.
This year's trailblazer chairman, David Littlefield, president and CEO of Littlefield Brand Development, hosted the reception in his offices.
"Your willingness to begin your campaign early is a result of your dedication to improving our community," Littlefield said.
Guests were reminded of the energy and momentum their early fundraising campaigns provide to the United Way's annual campaign, the goal of which this year will be announced at halftime of the Jenks-Union football game Aug. 31 at the University of Tulsa's Chapman Stadium.
Those attending also viewed this year's United Way campaign video, produced by Flying Colors, a local video production firm. Its owner, Doug Crain, and his associate, Katie Barbour, developed the video.
Attending the reception were Casie and Chet Cadieux, Steve Wilson, Kandy Collins, Ed Fariss, Donna Fideline, Matt Hill, Narin Seera, Jose Delgado, Tascina Gambrill, Kelly Hathcoat, Craig Ireland, Jan Baker, Devona Haslam, Dave Poth, Lori Selby, Cindy and Bob Peterson, John Celoni, Susan Plank, Thom Crowe, Laura Hailey-Butler, Frauke Quiroga, Donna Wells and Holly Bowlby.
The 2012 Trailblazers companies are Alliance Resource Partners, LP; Bank of Oklahoma; Compression Solutions; Ernst & Young; Flintco; Hillcrest HealthCare System; John Christner Trucking; Littlefield Brand Development; Luxa Enterprises; Mazzio's; Melton Truck Lines; MidFirst Bank; Okmulgee Memorial Hospital; QuikTrip; Ramsey Industries; and YMCA of Greater Tulsa.
