Canadian A-Game team defeats TU 102-92 in exhibition

Driven by former college basketball players like Tut Rauch (who played at York University) and Andry Sola (who played at Drake), an A-Game Hoops team connected on 22 3-point shots and dealt the young University of Tulsa squad a 102-92 setback on Saturday in Toronto.
With the loss, TU completed its Canadian exhibition tour with a 3-1 record. The Golden Hurricane had recorded blowout victories over Brock University, Ryerson University and Seneca College.
The A-Game team staggered TU with 55-percent shooting overall as Rauch scored 24 points and Sola added 21. Combined, they were 14-of-23 on shots from the field.
Last week, A-Game Hoops defeated College of Charleston 86-81. Charleston's first-year coach is Doug Wojcik - the former TU coach. The Hurricane now is coached by former Kansas assistant Danny Manning, who on Saturday saw his TU team trail at halftime by 19 points (55-36).
The deficit was 90-68 in the fourth quarter, but TU used full-court defensive pressure to pop A-Game with a 14-0 run.
Hurricane sophomore forward Rashad Smith finished with 21 points on 8-of-10 shooting. Freshman guard James Woodard added 12 points, while junior guard Pat Swilling Jr. scored 11. With 10 points apiece were senior forward Kauri Black and freshman forward D'Andre Wright.
TU connected on 44 percent of its shots from the field and was 21-of-24 on free throws.
