2012 High School Football Preview: Everything you need to get ready for the 2012 season.

Jenks, 5-8, 215, Jr.

In 2011, Trent Taber had a rare feat for a sophomore at Jenks.

His 87 tackles led the Trojans' defense.

That helped Taber earn a spot among the World's top 10 area linebackers, and he won the readers' poll by 1,200 votes.

Taber's biggest games were against top opponents. He had 14 tackles against Union in the regular season, recorded 12 tackles each in a key regular-season win over Norman and a first-round playoff game over Stillwater.

"He's the linchpin in there for us," Jenks coach Allan Trimble said.

Taber is excited about contributing on offense this season. He'll play some fullback, blocking for All-Metro tailback Trey'Vonne Barr'e.

"I love it," Taber said. "My goal is to open up some big plays for our running game."
