2012 High School Football Preview: Everything you need to get ready for the 2012 season.

Broken Arrow, RB, 6-0, 205, Jr.

Last year, it could be hard to identify Broken Arrow tailback Devon Thomas. Because of the color scheme on the team's uniforms, it was often difficult to distinguish between Thomas, who wore 28, and another running back, Cameron Wrenn, who wore 20.

And each was a threat to reach the opponent's end zone each time they touched the ball. Thomas rushed for 1,840 yards and 22 touchdowns while Wrenn had 1,139 rushing yards and 20 TDs.

This year it will be easier to tell them apart as Wrenn will see some playing time at receiver, and Thomas will have a new look.

Thomas has switched his uniform number to 4.

So why the change after a great sophomore season?

"I was 44 when I was growing up," Thomas said. "But that's more like a linebacker number in high school.

"I wanted 4. Last year, (then-senior) Quad Ware was No. 4. He was a gamechanger and a senior leader."

A day after last season ended, Thomas received Ware's blessing to be Broken Arrow's next player to wear No. 4.

Thomas, who had five games with more than 200 rushing yards, already has scholarship offers from several colleges including Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.
