2012 High School Football Preview: Everything you need to get ready for the 2012 season.
Union, 6-6, 255, Sr.
Last year, Cascia Hall linebacker Conner Sherwood had the largest victory in the readers' voting.
This year, another defensive player had the biggest landslide - Union defensive end Dalton Rodriguez.
Rodriguez's 20,147 votes nearly doubled runner-up Parker A'Neal of Cascia Hall, whose total was 10,112.
Although Rodriguez, an Oklahoma commit, is focused on the upcoming football season, one of his highlights this summer was playing basketball in a tournament at Wichita State.
"That was fun," he said.
Rodriguez hasn't played varsity basketball at Union but is considering it for his senior season as the Redskins also look to defend their Class 6A state basketball title.
