Drillers rally in ninth over Cards

Highlights: The Tulsa Drillers rallied for three runs in the ninth inning Wednesday to break a tie and hold on for a 6-5 win over the Springfield Cardinals in Texas League baseball action at Hammons Field in Springfield, Mo.

The Drillers led 2-1 after seven innings and added a run in the eighth before allowing the Cardinals to tie the game in the bottom of the inning. Zach Simons relieved starter Parker Frazier and gave up two earned runs, including a home run

The Drillers quickly responded in the ninth. Jose Gonzalez and Warren Schaeffer delivered consecutive singles, then Kiel Roling blasted a pinch-hit homer over the left field wall to give the Drillers a 6-3 lead.

Notable: Frazier lowered his ERA to 3.88.
