A former EMSA employee received an eight-year suspended sentence Thursday on a rape charge involving a co-worker.

Chad Michael McDaniel, 39, pleaded guilty to two felonies — rape by instrumentation and indecent exposure.

The offenses occurred March 11, 2011, at Emergency Medical Services Authority headquarters at 1417 N. Lansing Ave., police reported.

In accordance with a plea agreement, Tulsa County District Judge Tom Gillert put McDaniel on probation for eight years, with no prison time required. McDaniel, of Claremore, must register as a sex offender.

A police affidavit alleges that McDaniel penetrated a woman with his finger, exposed himself to her, and asked her to perform oral sex, a request that was denied.

The woman, now living in another state, was an off-duty EMSA employee when the offenses occurred. Evidence indicated that she was intoxicated, a prosecutor said.

McDaniel, who was free on bond while awaiting a resolution of the case, worked for EMSA from 2003 until March 2011, a spokesman said previously.

The woman ‘‘wanted this case behind her’’ and was willing to testify at a trial, Assistant District Attorney Andrea Brown said.
