Man arrested in rape of 13-year-old

A Tulsa man was arrested Wednesday on accusations that he raped a 13-year-old girl last month.
Chris Denman, 19, is being held in the Tulsa Jail on complaints of first-degree rape and oral sodomy of a minor, according to the arrest report.
Denman is accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl Aug. 13 in a stairwell near a band room at 7700 S. Lewis Ave., the report said.
The alleged rape occurred at the Victory Christian Center, Officer Leland Ashley said Thursday.
He said Denman was a former employee of Victory Christian Center, although Ashley was unsure in what capacity.
It is believed that on Aug. 15 the girl disclosed the incident to another person, who then notified her parents, the report states.
Police were informed Aug. 30 and conducted a forensic interview with the victim the following day, the report said.
Authorities arrested Denman at an apartment in the 1800 block of East 73rd Street about 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, police said.
His bail has been set at $100,000.
Officials at Victory Christian were not immediately available for comment.
