Driller bits

Playoff history: The last time a Tulsa team won a pennant at home was on Sept. 19, 1963 when the Oilers defeated San Antonio 4-1 for the Texas League championship behind the pitching of Dennis Aust. Since then, Tulsa teams have won six pennants in three different leagues, but the clinchers have all come on the road. That drought will continue until at least 2013. Tulsa can only win the pennant at home in odd-numbered years because the South winner hosts the final games of the championship series in even-nunbered years.

Winning experience: Drillers outfielder Chris Pettit is looking for his second Texas League championship ring. He was on Arkansas' pennant-winning squad in 2008.

Tough loss: The Drillers had never lost a playoff game that they had led by six runs until Springifleld's 8-6 comeback victory in 10 innings on Wednesday.

By the numbers: Tulsa is 8-7 in Springfield this year. During the regular season, the Drillers were 42-29 at home and 33-35 on the road while Springfield was 44-25 at home and 33-36 on the road.
