Gilcrease Museum is extending its hours this week, remaining open until 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

The Restaurant at Gilcrease will also be open from 5-8 p.m. each night through Saturday.

Duane King, Gilcrease Museum executive director, said the extended hours are in response to interest in the exhibit "Discover the Real George Washington: New Views from Mount Vernon," which is scheduled to close Sept. 23.

"We recognize the tremendous interest in this remarkable exhibition featuring our first president, and we want to provide the opportunity for everyone to see it before it closes later this month," said King.

The exhibit includes some 100 objects, from the only surviving complete set of Washington's famed false teeth to life-sized representations of the nation's first president at three major turning points in his life.

In conjunction with the exhibit, the museum will present a concert of music from the period of Washington's life, performed by David and Ginger Hildebrand of the Colonial Music Institute.

The concert will be 2 p.m. Saturday in the Tom Gilcrease Jr. Auditorium. Tickets are $8 and reservations are required. To reserve tickets, call 918-596-2774.
