Letter to the Editor: Blames Obama

J. David Wemhaner is concerned about Mitt Romney's tax rate ("Fair share question," Aug. 30). Romney pays his tax according to the tax law. If the rates are too low then Wemhaner should hold President Obama responsible. The president has been in office for more than three years, two of which he had a majority of Democrats in both the House and Senate.
For two years he was able to push through everything he wanted. He had ample opportunity to raise Romney's tax rate. So don't blame Romney for paying the tax he owes, blame the Democrats.
President Obama was busy passing Obamacare, which the U.S. Supreme Court has ruled a tax. Guess who pays that tax? Wemhaner does as well as us all. Romney pledges to repeal Obamacare, which will reduce our taxes.
