Tulsa livestock

The state Department of Agriculture reported the following closing prices Monday at the Tulsa Stockyards:

Receipts: 3,142; week ago: 3,573.

Compared to two weeks ago: Yearling steers and heifers steady-$4 higher. Steer calves steady-$6 higher, heifer calves steady-$4 lower. Demand very good on 4-6 wt. steer and bull calves. Quality plain to attractive with average fill. Supply included 22 percent over 600 lbs. 41 percent heifers 578 cows and bulls.

The state Department of Agriculture reported the following midsession prices Monday at the Oklahoma City stockyards:

Receipts: 9,900; week ago: holiday; year ago: 14,964.

Compared to the last test two weeks ago: Feeder cattle and calves steady. Demand moderate for feeder cattle; moderate to good for calves.

Short weaned calves seeing the least action. Quality thus far plain to average. Weigh-ups average to full. Cool front moved in over the weekend leaving cooler temperatures but very little in the way of wide-spread rain. Many areas remain very dry.
