The leadership team of Tulsa's Young Professionals on Thursday announced its endorsement of the Vision2 tax extension proposal.

"We engage the community in every way possible to support our mission, which is to attract and retain young talent and develop the next generation of business and community leaders in Tulsa," said Kate Hoback, chairwoman of TYPros. "With that mission in mind, we want to express our leadership team's support for the growth of the Tulsa region through the proposals outlined by Vision2."

Tulsa County voters will decide the fate of the proposed 0.6 percent county sales-tax extension Nov. 6. The $748.8 million proposal would fund infrastructure and equipment improvements to industrial facilities at the Tulsa airport complex and quality-of-life improvements throughout the county.

Tulsa's Young Professionals has more than 8,000 members organized into nine work crews. The group hosts more than 75 events a year.

A recent survey of the group's membership shows that they identified city planning and other community improvement initiatives as the No. 1 priority in the region's ability to compete for skilled workers.

"The two proposals of Vision2 are equally important to our region and equally important to the mission of TYPros," said the group's executive director, Brian Pascal. "Through its passage, we can attract and retain talented workers, who will help grow our regional economy."
