Assault and maiming charges were filed against a Tulsa man who allegedly stabbed and disfigured another man during an altercation at a night club earlier this month.

Joshua Taylor, 29, was charged Friday with single counts of maiming and assault and battery with a deadly weapon on accusations he stabbed a man multiple times in the face, arms and abdomen Sept. 1 at Night Trips, 3902 S. Sheridan Road, Tulsa County District Court filing show.

Witnesses at the scene told police the victim was in a physical altercation with Taylor’s father when the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the man “numerous times,” according to Taylor’s arrest report.

A bloody knife was recovered at the scene, police said.

The victim was taken to St. Francis Hospital with wounds to his face that “started at his hair line and continued all the way to his jaw,” the police report noted.

Taylor, who was arrested after the incident, denied stabbing the man during interviews with authorities but allegedly said he “hoped the victim would die,” the report said.
