Tulsa police were called to two fatal motorcycle wrecks almost simultaneously Thursday morning.
Kevin Don Jones, 44, died of serious head injuries at a local hospital after his Harley Davidson motorcycle struck a guardrail near U.S. 75 and Interstate 44 just after 2 a.m., police said.
Traffic investigators are working to determine why Jones’ bike, which was traveling northbound on U.S. 75, left the roadway, Officer Leland Ashley said Thursday morning.
As officers responded to the crash on U.S. 75, police were called to another wreck in the 9300 block of East 46th Street.
Lonnie Lee Bradbury Jr., 40, and Paula Richell Kearney, 46, died at the scene less than a block from Kearney’s home.
The westbound Honda motorcycle Bradbury was driving failed to negotiate a slight curve shortly after 2 a.m. and struck a parked car, said Cpl. Bruce Burton. The two were thrown from the bike before it landed in a yard west of the wreck.
None of the victims was wearing a helmet, police said.
