For more OU stories.
Passing fancy
Landry Jones became the first Oklahoma quarterback to throw for 500 yards at Kansas State last year. Cornerbacks Nigel Malone and Allen Chapman and free safety Ty Zimmerman were among K-State's victims that day. They'll be in the starting lineup Saturday. Remember Josh Heupel's Bedlam gameplan last year? Come out throwing until Jones' arm falls off? You might see that again Saturday evening.
Stoops, Snyder together again
It was another week of Bob Stoops answering Bill Snyder questions. What did you learn from him? Are you surprised he came back? Are you surprised by the success he's having? It makes for a convenient storyline every time teacher meets pupil. It's also quite inconvenient for the teacher in this case. Snyder is 1-7 against Stoops, with his only win coming in the 2003 Big 12 championship.
Show time
The Sooners played a subpar season opener at UTEP. They were sluggish for the first quarter and a half against Florida A&M. Followers still have questions about both lines, the rapport between Jones and his receivers, the sturdiness of OU's defensive front seven. They should have better answers by bedtime Saturday, whether they like them or not, as the 15th-ranked Wildcats board their bus.
