STILLWATER - With a matchup with No. 12 Texas looming, Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy said he's not sure which of his quarterbacks will start Saturday.
Freshman Wes Lunt hasn't practiced since injuring his left knee against Louisiana on Sept. 15.
"Wes is doing really good," Gundy said Monday during his weekly news conference.
"They've got his leg in an immobilization product like they do everybody. That comes off today.
"They looked at it a few days ago and it was even better than we thought. ... We're excited about the feedback we're getting from the medical staff."
The team is off Monday and resumes practice Tuesday. While Lunt will switch to a brace as he continues to recover from the injury, he is expected to practice by the end of the week, Gundy said.
If Lunt can't play, redshirt freshman J.W. Walsh will start in his place. Against UL, Walsh threw for 347 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions.
"It's just hard to say (whether Lunt will be ready)," Gundy said. "Some guys just based on the type of injury it's really hard to predict.
"But I know when they said they were taking him out of the cast and they weren't putting one back on, that's a good sign."
