Child-endangerment and DUI charges were filed Tuesday against a Bixby woman who is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol while taking her two children to school last week.
Sarah Rose Whitmarsh, 33, is charged with single counts of child endangerment, driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a suspended license, according to Tulsa County District Court filings.
Whitmarsh was arrested by Bixby police after she was stopped for speeding in the 13400 block of South Memorial Drive on Sept. 20, Whitmarsh's arrest report says.
Prosecutors allege that Whitmarsh told the arresting officer, who noted the smell of alcohol on her breath, that her driver's license was suspended and that she had taken prescription medication.
Whitmarsh also said she "didn't sleep all night" and that she "had a few drinks" during the overnight hours, the arrest report notes.
She was taken into custody after failing a field sobriety test, records show.
The children were taken to school that day by a school resource officer following Whitmarsh's arrest, according to the report.
She was no longer in custody as of Wednesday evening, jail records indicate.
