On Sunday, September 23rd, the soul of Penny Robinson moved on to be with the Lord at the age of 72. Born Mary Young on June 2nd, 1940 in Newfoundland, Canada, she was the oldest daughter in a family of twelve children. A woman of considerable faith, she dedicated two years of her life in a convent and never missed her Sunday date with the Lord. She moved to Tulsa in 1972, working for Cities Service. Later, she applied her amazing gift for cooking as she simultaneously worked and catered for Central States Orthopedic Specialist for the next sixteen years. Blessed with a nurturing heart, she spent her life dedicated to caring for those who could not care for themselves. The elderly and those with special needs always had a very special place in her heart and she always had someone that she was look- ing after to help ease their suffering. She was blessed to live with a pure heart and to always stand up for what she believed was right. An amazing mother and even better grandmother, she is survived by her daughter Mary and son Ryan; grandchildren Riley, Julian, Tristan, and Damon, as well as many loving members of her extended family that she called “friends”. A service celebrating her time here will be held at the chapel in Memorial Park Cemetery at 5111 South Memorial Drive on Thursday, October 4th at 2 PM. For any questions about the service, please call the home at 918-663-0829. Chef Robinson’s recipes will be in a cookbook at the service, so that loved ones may share their memories as well as some of her famous secret recipes themselves. This obituary was published in the Tulsa World on 9/30/2012.
