19-year-old playing with gun accidentally shoots self, police say

A Tulsa man was critically injured when he accidently shot himself Monday.
Police said the victim — a 19-year-old man whose name wasn’t released — and another person were playing with gun when it discharged around 6 p.m.
“The victim thought the gun wasn’t loaded when he pulled the trigger,” Sgt. Virgil Litterell said.
The shooting occurred in an apartment at the Creekwood Apartments, at 81st Street and Memorial Drive. The man had a single gunshot wound to his neck, Litterell said.
He was taken by ambulance to St. Francis Hospital, where he was in critical condition, authorities said.
