West Corp. will need an additional 300 seasonal and permanent employees this holiday season at its Tulsa call center, company officials announced Monday.
The company hopes to hire between now and December as it ramps up holiday demand for the center's primary client, which is a toy retailer, said David Pleiss, vice president of investor and public relations for Omaha, Neb.-based West Corp.
Job fairs will be held every Tuesday and Wednesday at the facility at 3810 S. 103rd East Ave. until the positions are filled, Pleiss said.
The jobs entail answering calls on behalf of West Corp.'s clients. The call center operates seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., the company said.
Starting wages range from $9.50 to $12.50 an hour, and benefits include an employer-matched 401(k) retirement plan and tuition reimbursement.
Company officials said they plan to offer employment to some applicants at the completion of an interview.
Pleiss said applicants will be aware whether they are applying for seasonal or permanent work.
West Corp. opened in Tulsa 14 years ago and had 400 employees as of July, when it said it was hiring an additional 100 workers.
The company, with some 40 call centers and other facilities around the country, employs about 32,000 people worldwide.
