A felon with a pending kidnapping and domestic assault case was jailed Wednesday after allegedly raping his ex-girlfriend, beating her and holding her captive for a week.
The woman told police she was at a friend’s house when Jeremy Wesley Harp, 23, called her and threatened to burglarize the friend’s home in order to get to her, according to Harp’s arrest report.
The woman said she met with Harp out of concern for her friend’s safety on Sept. 22 and was forced to go with him to an apartment in the 6300 block of East Ninth Street.
Harp allegedly held her against her will, beat her until she “didn’t recognize herself in the mirror” and raped her over the next week, the arresting officer wrote.
Harp took the woman to an emergency room for treatment and concocted a story about the woman being beaten by two gay men, the report says.
She escaped and reported the assault on Sept. 29.
Officers noted the woman had two black eyes and injuries consistent with sexual assault.
Harp is being held at the Tulsa Jail on complaints of first-degree rape, forcible sodomy, kidnapping and domestic assault and battery as well as outstanding warrants on kidnapping and domestic assault and battery charges filed in August. His bond is set at $148,750.
Harp pleaded guilty in two 2007 felony cases on charges including second-degree burglary, possession of a stolen vehicle and leaving the scene of an injury accident.
Another ex-girlfriend of Harp’s filed a petition for a protective order in May, but the order was dismissed after she failed to appear in Tulsa County District Court.
