The “Literature Live!” theater series is coming to the Tulsa Convention Center in 2013, with presentations of “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie & Other Story Books,” “Ramona Quimby” and “Skippyjon Jones.”

The three-show season features beloved literary characters, and brings the power of the written word to the stage. Professional theater artists present programs that are supported with teacher-developed lesson plans and reference materials to enhance the arts and education experience, according to a press statement from the venue.

Admission is $5 per person, with group discounts available. More information is available by calling 918-894-4282 or online at tulsaworld.com/tulsaconvention.

The shows include:

“If You Give a Mouse a Cookie”: Jan. 23, 2013

When a boy shares his snack with a hungry demanding mouse, he learns a hilarious lesson about cause-and-effect. Written by Laura Joffe Numeroff.

“Ramona Quimby”: Feb. 13, 2013

Ramona, the exasperating but lovable third-grader, has delighted young readers for over fifty years through the books of Newberry Medal-winning writer Beverly Cleary. Now, she comes to life on the stage in Ramona Quimby.

“Skippyjon Jones”: March 13, 2013

Skippyjon Jones is a little kitten with big ears and even bigger dreams. Sometimes he pretends to be a bird, sometimes he pretends to be a llama, and sometimes he pretends to be a whale… Anything but a Siamese cat. Based on the book by Judy Schachner, Skippyjon Jones is an enchanting musical about unleashing your powerful imagination and following your dreams.
