A native Tulsan for 92 years, Agnes Ellen Morey Shofner, passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2012. Agnes was born on June 24th, 1920 to Ernest and Myrtle Gilbert Morey. She was the youngest of four children, all brothers. She attended Irving Elementary School and graduated, with honors, at the age of 16 from Central High School, Class of 1936. She was greatly disappointed when her father would not permit her to attend OSU like her brothers. Instead she graduated from secretarial school. She was known for her pie crust, potatoes au gratin and chocolate chip cookies. She and Jack square danced, traveled extensively and were members of the AOK camping club. She attended Victory for years and made contributions to many organizations. Agnes was the last of her generation, preceded in death by her parents, brothers, and husband. Agnes is survived by her children and their spouses; Jim and Renita Shofner, Jackie Sue and Jim Alspaugh of Oklahoma City, and JoAnn Shofner, then her grandchildren and their spouses and great grandchildren; Rob and Stacey Shofner, Jackson and Olivia of Tulsa, Jim and Lea Alspaugh, Nathan and Brian of Oklahoma City, Lainie and Paul Allmon, Grayson and Carson Blue in Atlanta, GA; John and Jessica Alspaugh, Lizzie and Alex of Oklahoma City; Ellen and Michael Bolotin, Samuel in Brooklyn, NY.
