Tulsa police arrested a driver and three passengers after responding to a report of a man pointing a deadly weapon inside a vehicle early Friday.
Another motorist flagged down officers around 1:30 a.m. The motorist told police he saw someone pointing a gun at another person inside a blue Ford Contour near 41st Street and Sheridan Road, Officer Jill Roberson said.
Police found the car and conducted a traffic stop, which resulted in four arrests - Bennie Earl Johnson, 33; Roosevelt Tolon, 33; and Korrine Kay Vann, 25, all of Tulsa; and Shelly Denise Leonard, 45 of Glenpool. A semi-automatic handgun was recovered from inside the car.
The car’s occupants did not cooperate with police in discussing who had pointed the gun at whom, Roberson said.
Johnson, Tolon and Leonard have felony records, police said.
Johnson allegedly identified himself to arresting officers and Tulsa Jail deputies as his brother, giving them his brother’s name through the arrest and booking process. That resulted in additional complaints of false impersonation and obstructing a police officer being added, Roberson said.
Johnson was also arrested on multiple outstanding traffic and drug warrants, according to jail records.
Tolon is being held at the Tulsa Jail in lieu of $10,000 bond on a complaint of possession of a firearm after the former conviction of a felony.
Tolon pleaded guilty to felony possession of a controlled drug in 2001. In 2009, he was given a seven-year suspended sentence after pleading guilty to first-degree burglary and firearms charges, according to the Tulsa County District Court website.
Leonard has prior felony convictions for drug charges, Roberson said.
Vann and Leonard are scheduled to appear in Tulsa County District Court on Tuesday.
Vann is being held on 13 outstanding warrants including driving under the influence and physically resisting arrest. Her bond is set at $4,208. Warrants against Leonard allege traffic violations and outstanding court costs.
